How much GT Performer do I give my horse or pony?
Every bag of GT Performer concentrate will have the suggested daily dose rate on the label, you will also find a scoop provided in each bag.
GT Performer is all natural and it is safe to double the dose - this is highly recommended for horses that have been on antibiotic or anti-inflammatory treatments, have suffered injury and been on restricted movement etc and especially beneficial for horses or ponies susceptible to gastric ulcers, colic, laminitis and hindgut acidosis.
⭐ Daily loading dose - for those wishing to start off with a loading dose we suggest 1 - 3 weeks at double the suggested dose, however if required it is safe to leave your horse or pony on this dose rate longer.
⭐ Daily maintenance dose - This is your long term dosage to keep your horses digestive system healthy and functioning at full capacity.
⭐ Stress dose - If your horse is sick or injured, or may be going to have a change of environment, travelling a long distance etc you can double the dose whenever you feel there is a need - you can do this for just a few days or longer depending on the circumstance - as GT Performer is all natural you cannot overdose.
⭐ There is not really one dose that fits all - the dosages on the packets are a good guide but they may need adjusting as some horses may be maintained on a lesser dose, some do well on the recommended dose and others may do better with a higher dose.
The dose rate on each GT Performer supplement is a good guide but you may adjust to suit accordingly.
Example:
The dose rate on GT + Aloe Vera concentrate recommends *ponies under 250 kg - 1/2 scoop
*horses 250 - 500 kg - 1 scoop
*horses over 500 kg - 2 scoops
You may have a horse that weighs approx 375 kg - in this case 3/4 of a scoop is fine, if your horse is just over 500 kg you can choose to use 1 1/2 scoops, we have customers with horses weighing approx 600 kg who are well maintained on 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 of a scoop daily.
